September 2017 Newsletter

Welcome Back           I hope everyone had a great summer and is ready for the new school year. We welcome specially our 4 classes of Junior Infants coming to school for the first time. Ms. Fogarty has returned after a year in Australia and both Ms. Tynan and

Mrs. Corboy are now back to fulltime teaching after job sharing.

Junior Infants The Junior Infants will start their full day on Thursday 14th. They will stay until 2pm on that day and will go to the playground for the two breaks. They have settled very well so far and will soon get used to the new routine.

Blue Day – Up the Dubs!      On Friday 15th we ask that everyone would wear blue to school to show support for Dublin in the All-Ireland football final.

Lining up procedure             We remind everyone that the children line up in the playgrounds at 9.20am. Before this time each child must be accompanied and supervised. This time is not a playtime and we would ask that parents supervise their children on school grounds. We cannot allow football or any other ball games as this would present a danger to other pupils and to toddlers etc. Unfortunately we cannot allow prams or buggies into the building as the corridors are narrow and can become congested.

Only staff cars are permitted to drive in the gate. There is one exception to this rule as the parents of a pupil with mobility issues have been granted permission.

We make these regulations with your child’s safety in mind and we ask that you observe them.

Residents in Woodlawn Park have asked that you do not park across their driveways.

We also have had a complaint from our neighbours that parents are using their driveway to park and turn. The family runs a bus company and there is a potentially dangerous situation for both children and adults.

If you are collecting a child early, please remember to avoid break times as you will be asked to wait until they come in from yard and to sign them out on our sign out book at front door.

Book Bills       Thank you very much to all parents who have paid the €50 for Arts / Crafts etc. and who have equipped their children with books for the coming year. If you have yet to pay, can you do so promptly.

If any of your contact details have changed can you please update the secretary.
